Swimsafe

Room8 have been going to Water World. I am very good at backstroke and freestyle breathing. What I am working on is dolphin dive. On Thursday we went into the 25metre pool to learn how to be safe in the water.

  

My favourite

My favourite athletics event was 60 meter sprint , I was good at it because I came second and I achieved my goal.

My favourite science experiment was making sherbet because I got to taste the sherbet and see if it was sour or sweet. It was a little bit of both.

My favourite animal fact is that the panda used to  be a carnivore but now it is a herbivore.

My favourite subject is reading because my group is reading a chapter book called the lemonade war.

How high can I jump?

Room8 has been practising high jump for athletics. You had to run up and do the sicssor kick over the metal bar.If we were really good Mrs Hood  put the metal bar a little bit higher. It was hard for me because the bar was high so I felt like I couldn't do it, but I kept on trying and I jumped over the bar. My goal for high jump is to run faster to get the speed so I can jump higher.

All Blacks competition

In room 8 we entered a competition to dress up like we where in the stadium watching the All Blacks vs Argentina .We painted our faces black and white and we dressed up in black clothes .If we won a all black will come into our class room and talk about rugby and the All Blacks. Today we got the photo back and it looked AMAZING. We got some good news that we had to take another photo because they want more photos of us. I hope we win. My  favourite All Back is Richie I haven't been to the staduim and whatched them but one day I will.I only watch rugby on tv .Try and find me in this photo.[hint- I am wearing a blue scarf]

Buddy reading

Room8 does buddy reading every Friday. Our buddy reading class is room 4. My buddy is Taylor.  I help Taylor read by sounding out the words and encourage her to read more. I sometimes ask her questions about the story like how many characters are in the story, what are the characte'rs names and what happened in the story. I enjoy buddy reading because I like helping room 4 read.
